agentic
a.k.a. Agentic AI, agentic intelAgentic describes something (or someone) that functions or behaves like an agent, in that it's capable of acting independently, making decisions, and taking actions to achieve goals. It implies possessing agency, which is the ability to act on one's own behalf or on behalf of another. For example, Agentic AI systems are designed to operate autonomously, make decisions, and perform tasks without constant human intervention.
In the world of artificial intelligence, agentic refers to agents that are very persistent. For example, if you have an AI coding assistant working for you, it can work for 2, 4, 6 hours at a time without having to check in every 10 minutes to ask you if it's doing the task right. Agentic agents are designed to have autonomy and to be able to work for a long time. The problem is some of these agents are misalignment and start doing things humans didn't ask of them or don't want them to do.
