CBT

Computer Based Training -or- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Computer Based Training is a form of education in which the student learns by executing special training programs on a computer (formerly via CD-ROM or a bunch of floppies!). The value was, unlike Web-based training programs, CBT does not require an Internet connection. CBT is especially effective for training people to use computer applications, because it can be integrated within a tutorial so that students actually use an application as they study it.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a type of psychotherapy intervention that focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, and bringing about the development of personal coping strategies that target problem solving.

It’s an abbreviation used in texting, online chat, instant messaging, email, blogs, newsgroups and social media postings.
