BOTUS

A bot that has the sole duty of monitoring President Trump's Twitter activity to see how it moves the stock market. 

Historical perspective: In 2017, NPR launched BOTUS to watch President Trump's Twitter feed, and when he tweets about a company, it traded stocks, with real money. Because the official Twitter handle of the 45th President Of The United States is @POTUS, NPR named their bot @BOTUS. As of January 8, 2021, President Trump was kicked off of Twitter and Facebook due to his hate speech and glorification of the insurrection he encited on January 6. He then started his own social media service Truth Social. In November 2022, Elon Musk reinstated Trupm's Twitter / X account and in 2024, he was re-elected as 47th President of the United States.
