POTUS

President of the United States

(pronounced: poe-tuss)

An acronym used primarily in texting, online chat, instant messaging, e-mail, blogs, and newsgroup postings, it is also considered a form of online jargon or text message shorthand.

Historical perspective: By December 1, 2017 President Trump was tweeting more than ever. He sent 362 tweets in June, 424 in July, and 485 in September. At his current pace in November, his tweet tally will reach 723 by the end of the month. On one day alone, he shot off 51 tweets. Trump's account was permanently banned on January 8, 2021 citing “the risk of further incitement of violence” two days after the deadly insurrection at the Capitol and this image is now an NFT.

As of January 20, 2021 Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. is POTUS.
