a.k.a. day zero, zero-day attack, zero-day exploit, zero-day vulnerability, zero day
A flaw in software on our personal devices that is unknown and can be hacked.

They are called zero-day exploits because device manufacturers don't know about them yet. Until the vulnerability is mitigated, hackers can exploit it to adversely affect computer programs, data, additional computers or a network.
