scraping

a.k.a. scrape, web scraping
Web "scraping" refers to the automated process of extracting data and copying content from websites using software or scripts. So instead of manually copying and pasting information, a bot or program loads web pages, reads the code (such as HTML), and saves the details into a different format (such as a spreadsheet or database).

Scraping is commonly used for tracking competitor prices, market research, lead generation, and content aggregation. There are ways to block scrapers but developers can usually bypass it. If your website has been scraped, you can file a DMCA takedown notice with the hosting provider of the offending site and block the scraper's bots.
