post-truth

a.k.a. post-factual, post-reality
The PC definition is when objective facts are less influential in an argument than appeals to emotion and personal belief. The post-PC definition is when facts are ignored and FUD is used.

Historical perspective: This term rose in popularity during the fake news era of 2018 when commentators observed that we are living in a post-truth age. Known originally as "post-truth politics" it refers to a political culture in which debate is framed by appeals to emotion and not from the details of policy, and by the repeated assertion of talking points to which factual rebuttals are ignored.
