PKZIP

A data compression software used to compress and decompress files. PKZIP allows users to create self-extracting and standard ZIP files that span multiple diskettes. It was developed by PKWARE, the company that revolutionized data compression technology with the introduction of the .ZIP file format in 1989; other specialties include data backup and data storage needs for enterprises and consumers. Featuring Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) with digital signature support, PKZIP can extract files in many different file formats. The software also includes helpful wizards to assist newbies.
