Historical perspective: This term was coined by Rush Limbaugh to refer to his legion of faithful followers who begin their remarks with "Ditto!" or "Dittoes!" to agree with a previous comment. A "dittohead" is a devotee of his radio program or his opinions and now refers to someone who mindlessly agrees with an idea, especially those who agree only as a supporter of a person who expressed the idea.
