compatible or compatibility

A frequently used term referring to the ability of a hardware device or software program to work with another kind of device or program. For example, a user may try to substitute one brand (or model) of a computer with another and then try to run the same software on it; to be truly compatible, a program or device must operate on a given system without any changes.
