HFC

Hybrid Fiber Coax
A digital transmission network composed of a fiber-optic backbone that's connected to a coaxial cable TV line running to a sub's home. HFC is becoming a popular solution for interactive TV (iTV) networks because it takes advantage of existing cable TV "coax" connections.
