Acrobat

a.k.a. Acrobat Reader

Created by Adobe, Acrobat is a software program that decodes, reads, and converts documents in a format called PDF (Portable Document Format). You use this program, for example, when prompted to download a PDF version of something on the Web. It is a revolutionary product in that it allows scalable graphics and type to be displayed and printed from any computer and from any platform (Macintosh, Windows, DOS, or Unix)-regardless of the fonts or software programs used to create the original document. It is freeware, so all you need to do in order to get the latest version of Acrobat, is download it from this definition on NetLingo.com.
