HomeRF

An alternative to Wi-Fi, it is a protocol for wireless networking (at 1.6 Mbps and increasing to 10 Mbps). HomeRF is a leading RF technology backed by corporations such as Compaq, Motorola, National Semiconductor, Proxim, and Siemens. Like Wi-Fi (also known as 802.11b), HomeRF operates on the 2.4 GHz spectrum but differs in that its signals hop among different frequencies (or bands) within the radio frequency spectrum.
