Personal Video Recorder
The modern replacement of the VCR, they store TV programming on a hard disk. PVRs allow you to save your favorite TV shows to a hard disk as you watch them, giving you the power to skip ads and pause when the phone rings. It is expected that PVRs will become part of the cable or satellite TV set-top boxes (STB).
