Netscape color palette

The array of approximately 253 colors that are supported or can be correctly interpreted by the Netscape browser. These colors are supposed to be the standard colors that users with the "lowest common denominator" computer equipment will correctly see. Whether your video card supports 256 colors or 16 million, the color palette colors are supposed to render the same way.
The Netscape palette is supported by Microsoft's Internet Explorer, but some colors may deviate slightly. A Web page author adds color to a page by using the hexidecimal value of each RGB color.
For example, the HTML syntax for setting color on a Web page looks something like this:
