narrowband




a.k.a. narrow bandwidth

A communications transmission channel that has a slow data transfer rate and a smaller bandwidth. It is any channel with a maximum throughput of 2400 bps. This term generally refers to the speed and connection of portable devices that do not require a PC for Net access.
