metabrowser

An online application that can jump across Web sites, gather information, and organize it on one page. Metabrowsers are similar to a "My Yahoo!" type portal, but they aren't restricted to Yahoo! content. Although they're dubbed as next-generation syndicators (or services that pay to distribute content), metabrowsers currently syndicate proprietary content without permission, and it's unclear whether some copyright holders will consider this practice a copyright infringement. Also, metabrowser users who select content from a given site will not see that site's ad banners, so publishers lose impressions.
