A much-heralded but so far inept notion of combining interactive technology with television. In theory, it will enable two-way communication between a TV viewer and an OSP, but so far, the closest thing is pay TV (which dedicates an entire channel to the same movie so that a viewer can watch it within a short time of ordering). WebTV is an attempt at interaction between a home user and an online provider, but instead of being called "interactive TV," it is referred to as "Internet TV."
