a.k.a. brogrammer, bros who program, bromance
In the world of high-tech start-ups, some people (in this case men) consider entrepreneurs to be the new rock stars. Hence a new term is born based on "bros" which is short for frat brothers or guys who could have been fraternity brothers. It's the new nickname for "dudes" and originally came from the movie term "bromance" in which two or more guys have an endearing relationship.
The "brogramming" meme was coined in June, 2011 with some choice posts on Quora and a Brogramming Group on Facebook. It was taken to new heights when writer Miles Lothe translated the Facebook Terms of Service into "bro speak."
