blow a buffer

Euphemism for spacing out or losing one's train of thought. "I 'blew a buffer', and now I can't remember what I was gonna say." Similarly, "blowing your buffer", occurs when the person you're speaking with won't let you get a word in edgewise or has just said something so astonishing that your train gets derailed. "Damn, I just blew my buffer!"
