A testosterone-driven sports terms masquerading as a business phrase, for example "We've got bench," the salesman assures the customer who wants to know if the company can deliver as promised. "We need bench," complains the manager whose department has been running two down for the past six months. In other places, "bench" is the justification for an excessive number of overly-paid executives.
