AOL




America Online, Inc., a division of AOL Time Warner

Founded in 1985, America Online, based in Dulles, Virginia, has become the world's leader in interactive services, Web brands, Internet technologies, and e-commerce services. It operates AOL, with more than 30 million members; CompuServe, with more than 3 million members; several leading Internet brands, including ICQ and AOL Instant Messenger; the Netscape products, including Netscape Navigator; AOL Moviefone; and a bevy of other products. It has built alliances with leading technology companies, expanded overseas, and merged with media giant Time Warner, which operates HBO, Time, Turner Broadcasting, Warner Brothers, and other major entities.
