(pronounced: carrot)
A symbol used in spreadsheet programs for "exponent" or "to the power of." In online use, it is often seen as part of a smiley, for example :^) It also stands for the "Control key" (seen on many keyboards as "Ctrl") in computer documentation (as in, "Press ^C in order to copy something).
