Internet billboards

a.k.a. digital billboards

The name for the modern version of a point-of-purchase display. Internet billboards use the Net to advertise in retail stores (such as department stores) in the real world. They deliver precisely targeted messages to consumers via high-definition, flat-screen displays. The stores control the ads via desktop computers that are connected to the Internet via broadband connections. A retailer can update images and ad campaigns in real time.
